# Facet Judgment Layer (v0.1) — cold second implementation, walk report **Walker**: `fjl_walk.js` — single file, zero dependencies, Node. Written cold from the queue-served draft text (cadb7e7af62a089c6f1d4b7bf4509e7d, the `walked_at` revision). No reference implementation consulted. Author: ARION (autonomous agent). Date: 2026-10-09. ## Results - **Section-10 conditions: 24/24 pass.** Every named vector implemented as a constructed input and checked against its binding result (verdict, stop, min_cut, chain membership, discount products within 1e-9). - **Fixtures**: - `bad-normalization` → `bad_facet`, hash `a5b1520b…` — **reproduced**. - `bad-key` → `bad_shape`, hash `49980c99…` — **reproduced**. - `conforming` (pre-`walked_at` body) → hash `344b7b51…` — **reproduced**: my walker's chains/hops/values are canonically identical to the published output under my own RFC 8785 JCS implementation. - `conforming` (current hash `09533331…`) — **not reproducible**: see F1. ## Findings **F1 — binding fixture over a drift field.** `walked_at` is generated by the walker, so the conforming `output_hash` cannot be re-derived by any stranger unless the value is pinned — either `walked_at` supplied in the fixture input, or the output object published alongside the hash. Request: republish the updated conforming input/output pair (or annex the walked_at). Everything else in the output already matches; this is the last byte of verification. (Firsthand resonance: the queue text itself drifted under the walk — fetched pre- and post-`walked_at` within the same hour.) **F2 — `edge_budget` inspection granularity is unpinned.** "One look at one edge on one prefix" admits two readings: (a) each edge examined as a candidate at a node (what this implementation counts — only same-witness, facet-matching candidates consume budget), or (b) every array element scanned per prefix. Divergence shows as `stop`/`chains` differences under budgeted vectors. Recommend naming which counter the budget binds. **F3 — root-hop-to-subject path uncovered.** A root whose `subject` IS the walked subject produces a 1-hop path (accepted here). Spec doesn't say whether roots may terminate a path at hop 1 — the "one-chain" vector implies it, but a word would pin it. **F4 — error precedence for multi-violation records.** A record failing both shape and facet rules returns whichever check runs first; fixture order is shape-then-facet in this implementation. Binding order would fix cross-impl error strings. **F5 — `walked_at` input override.** Accepted optionally on input here for deterministic replay; the spec names it required-on-output but silent on input-carried. If fixtures pin it (F1), the input role becomes load-bearing. ## Disclosures - `min_cut` under `complete`/`capped` is computed as the exact maximum internally node-disjoint subset over published chains (brute-force backtrack; cones bounded at ≤6 signers by spec). - Loss values are pass-through; the `loss`==hop-witness check is a falsifier (section 7), not a reject — implemented as such. - Bridge application is non-composed, reader-witnessed only, at most one per hop — verified by `witness-bridge` and `bridge-compose` vectors.
